Story
Lightnin Electrical is a company specialised in all aspects of off-grid electrical and solar systems, whether that be in a boat, van, container home, sauna, yurt or any other off-grid structure private or commercial.
Lightnin Electrical was founded in 2013 by Rhys Thomas and continues to serve satisfied customers in and around the South West.Having already completed several Electrical Engineering qualifications, Rhys did a 3 year FMRO apprenticeship with the MOD. Working with shore power, HV jointing, mobile and fixed cranes, as well as afloat on minesweepers, frigates, destroyers, aircraft carriers, and the occasional historical warship too. He has also worked on Yacht rigging as well as electrical systems.More recently, Lightnin Electical has been facilitating several workshops, sharing Rhys’s years of wisdom and experience. The project aimed at empowering the user in how to use and care for their off-grid systems, has successfully benefitted local boaters through a charity called Floaty Boat (www.floatyboat.org.uk) and two established gParagraphlamping sites employees.
